Herbal Tisane Tea: Luscious Watermelon
Ingredients: Apple, carrot, watermelon, wild strawberry leaves, honeydew melon, beetroot, artificial flavouring.
Do you remember Hubba Bubba gum as a kid? It was this gum that you could use to blow massive bubbles as big as your head. The watermelon flavour was always my favourite, and that’s the exact smell that I get when I opened this tea. It makes your mouth water, and brings you back to any watermelon flavoured candy you might have had.
This tea was toted as one that is suitable for iced tea as well, so that’s how I first prepared it. Following the brewing instructions, and let it steep a bit longer, and then let it cool.
I found that without sugar, it didn’t really have a poignant watermelon flavour. I should have prepared it as a syrup like I did with Perfect pear.
So on attempt two, I added sugar and tried it warm. When it was warm I have to say I did enjoy it much more, but the flavour when it cooled still didn’t really grasp me with any “melon” flavour - in fact it kind of tastes more like banana.
All in all it was a light refreshing tea hot or cold, but the taste isn't the same as the smell for me unfortunately.
Overall: 3/5 Cups of drinkable tea. I don’t hate it… but I’m not as in love with it as I am with Perfect Pear.
nice...
ReplyDeleteThat's a shame that the smell of it didn't cross over to the taste.
ReplyDeleteYea I was really excited to try this one, but it was a bit disappointing.
