Stacking The Shelves (13): The Manga edition!

Hosted by Tynga

Okay, I was in serious blog slacker mode this week. I've been buried up to the ceiling of my room in research for a couple of papers due soon, and applications for Grad school. So I'm just going to amalgamate everything from these past couple of weeks!

These (past few) Weeks at Tea And Text

• Review of Iced (Dani O'Malley, #1) by Karen Marie Moning
• Last week's tea: Movie Night <- Popcorn flavoured tea..
• Review of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
• Review of Ghost Planet by Sharon Fisher

Bought:

• Chobits by CLAMP --> I was a huge Manga fan in highschool, and back then (before I got a job) I had to squirrel money away to get them one at a time. Last week my friend Tyler decided he was going to purge all his manga and I snapped up this (almost) complete set of Chobits for $15. I already had 1-6, so volume 7 nearly completed my set. Unfortunately someone got Vol. 8 before I could get it and that's the one I really wanted. So here's the challenge: if someone can find me volume 8 (it's out of print) in English and in good condition, I will trade volumes 1-6 (I don't need them)!

• Iced (Dani O'Malley, #1) by Karen Marie Moning -> My copy smelled like delicious delicious strawberries for some reason....*probably fae magic*

• Catching Jordan (Catching Jordan, #1) by Miranda Kenneally -> at the time it was $1.99 on kindle so I couldn't resist.

So what'd you guys do this week?? Link me up so I can check it out in between my completely productive research breaks :D

And I'm back from my mini hiatus! It's been a slow week for me, but I think everyone's pretty much going to have this one on their shelves this week:

• The Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling <- I started it and I'm just a few pages in, so far it's definitely idyllic little town with lots of drama and scheming....

• Goliath (Leviathan, #3) by Scott Westerfeld <- It was on sale for and Yay now I have the whole series

• Ironskin (Ironskin, #1) by Tina Connolly <- e-arc from Netgalley. I'm about halfway through this and I don't really have strong feelings about this, I was drawn in by the cover!

So what'd you guys get this week? Leave me a link so I can swing by!

Stacking the Shelves (10)

Hosted by Tynga

This week was my first full week of school! I'm getting back into the swing of things, but I still managed to squeeze some reading in. This past week Chapters/Indigo here in Canada was having this bonus 4,500 'plum points' (it's a loyalty reward card where you collect points and redeem them at certain benchmarks for books) so I racked up quite a few points!

Bought:

• Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (Miss Peregrine, #1) by Ransom Riggs <- I picked it up for October's Just a Lil Lost's Read-a-long and I started flipping through it. The photos are SO creepy, I got goosebumps just looking at them...
• Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson<- I'm excited to see how this one will turn out!
• Such a Rush by Jennifer Echols <- I devoured this in just a few hours, it was amazing! Review HERE

• Under the Never Sky (Under the Never Sky, #1) by Veronica Rossi <- I've been meaning to grab this one and I finally did when Harper Collins put the ebook version on for super cheap - Kindle version HERE
• Anathema (Casual Enchantment, #1) by K.A. Tucker <- Free on Kindle HERE
• Every Last Kiss (The Bloodstone Saga, #1) by Courtney Cole <- I'm a sucker for anything Egypt related, plus it's free on Kindle HERE

Borrowed:

• Blood Red Road (Dust Lands, #1) by Moira Young <- Traded some of my books with my friend Nicole for this one!

For Review:

• Never Say Never (Never Knights, #1) by Kailin Gow <- From the author for review in preparation for the second one, I finished it in one sitting - look for the review to come!
• Ghost Planet by Sharon Fisher <- e-arc from Netgalley. I'm excited to start this one!

What's up with everyone else this week? Leave me a link in the comments so I can swing by!

Stacking the Shelves (9)

This week I bought:

• Defiance (Defiance, #1) by C. J. Redwine <-- Super duper excited to start this one!
• Ender's Game (Ender's Saga, #1) by Orson Scott Card<-- I originally read this in highschool, so I thought I'd reread it before the movie is released (hopefully) next year!

For Review:

• Rape Girl by Alina Klein <-- e-arc from publisher thank you! I've already finished it, it's a short but intense read.

So what'd you guys add to your shelves this week? Link me up in the comments so I can swing by to check it out!

Stacking the Shelves (8)

This week I bought:

• Anna Dressed in Blood (Anna, #1) by Kendare Blake <- When I first read this I borrowed it from the library, I figured it was time I got my own copy.
• Onyx (Lux, #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout <- Yay the physical copy showed up!
• Delirium (Delirium, #1)  by Lauren Oliver <- It was super cheap at Indigo, and I do have the paperback version (that I still haven't read...), so I'll probably be giving the paperback one away sometime in the near future!

For Review:

• Eve & Adam by Michael Grant and Katherine Applegate <- e-arc from Netgalley from Macmillan, I've started reading it and it's sooo awesome so far!
• The Map of the Sky by Felix J. Palma <- The premise of the story is to reproduce the extraterrestrial invasion featured in H.G. Well's War of the Worlds. Thanks to Atria Books!

So what's new on your shelves this week? Leave a link in the comments for me to stop by!
